When you are working with someone as closely as a bride with her wedding photographer, it's important to develop an understanding and trusting relationship in order to achieve the natural, spontaneous images that can only be created in a genuinely relaxed situation.
I like to find out about couples and their personalities before the all-important special day, and let them get to know me, so that by the time the big occasion comes around it's just like having an extra friend amongst your guests... a friend who happens to be capturing the special moments on camera throughout the celebrations.
If you don't have trust and confidence in your photographer, the results will never be quite as natural. So with that in mind, here's a little about me!
I live in a quiet valley in southern Snowdonia, having 'seized the dream' and moved here in 2006. Wales has always held a magical appeal for me, and the inspirational scenery, history and atmosphere here has no doubt had a great influence on my landscape photography.
I've always been happiest doing something creative, with a strong passion for music, photography and ballet from an early age. My enjoyment of photography began in capturing stunning landscapes and nature, but I soon discovered a unique gift for bringing out people's personalities and, in particular, making women look their most beautiful on camera.
Since then I've developed my own brand of 'people photography', incorporating natural looking shots with flattering lighting and creative angles. I like to do something new and quirky on every shoot and this enjoyable, relaxed experience is how my signature style has evolved.
When I'm not photographing, which isn't very often, I enjoy long walks in the mountains or forests with my two border collies Eddie and Louie (Edward and Llewelyn for those who know their Welsh history!), playing guitar and piano, and occasionally indulging in a little sci-fi or medieval drama!
